After each action, check if the problem is resolved.
- Make sure your device is running the latest version of iOS.
- Turn on the “Automatic” function 1 in the menu “Settings”> “General”> “Date and time”. This function automatically sets the date and time according to the time zone. If time zone data updates are available, a message is displayed on the device.
- Allow the device to use the current location to determine the current time zone. To do this, go to Settings> Privacy> Geolocation Services> System Services and select the "Set Time Zone" checkbox.
- Check if the time zone is displayed correctly on the device. To do this, go to Settings> General> Date and Time> Time Zone.
If additional assistance is required
If the device still displays the wrong date, time, or time zone 2, change each setting instead of using the Automatic function. Suppose your device is running iOS 9 or earlier, and the government of a country or region has decided to change the time zone or enter daylight saving time. In this case, do the following:
Change auto lock settings on iPhone / iPad
Everything can be configured using the settings of the iOS device. Go to the app on your iPhone or iPad "Setup" and then select a bookmark from the list of available options “Screen and brightness”.
Here you will find all the options related to the backlight of the screen and display. Find the item with the name in the list "Auto-Lock". This option is responsible for automatically turning off the screen and locking the device. The default value is 1 minute.
After entering the Autolock option, the available values appear. If you want to completely turn off the automatic blanking of the screen, set the parameter "Never" here. Then the iPhone or iPad will constantly block the screen until you lock it yourself with the power button.
In addition, if you just want to reduce or increase the time for automatic blocking, select one of the other options. The iPhone can be configured to automatically block after 30 seconds, after 1 minute, after 2 minutes, after 3 minutes, after 4 minutes, or after 5 minutes.
Other values are available on the iPad - you can set the device to lock even after 10 or 15 minutes. Select the value you need. If you want to change the auto-lock settings to save the battery, set the lowest value. Then the device closes quickly after you stop using it.
How to change the auto-lock time on iPhone and iPad
An equally important parameter is the time after which the iPhone and iPad will automatically lock and, accordingly, the display will go out. For all, this indicator was initially set to one minute.
You can adjust this parameter by going to Settings → Screen and brightness → Auto lock.
The time interval can vary from 30 seconds to five minutes, and there is also an option that allows you to completely disable automatic locking, however, we recommend using it only in exceptional cases (by the way, the minimum threshold of 30 seconds appeared only in iOS 9, in previous versions iOS it was not).
Why is the auto-lock on the iPhone not active?
An energy saving mode has become an equally popular feature in iOS 9, thanks to which the operating system partially limits the operation of some services. So, in the case when it is activated (you can do this by going to Settings → Battery or from Control room) the ability to change the display lock time will be disabled, and the indicator will automatically set for 30 seconds.
After turning off the power saving mode, the parameter will return to its original value (for example, for one minute).
